We’ve been really lucky to get our hands on some of the PRS Limited Edition ‘Exotic Top’ 2017 series, and you’ll have to forgive me for any spelling mistakes, because even as I type this, I’m having trouble tearing my eyes away from them!

The gorgeous, dark and magnificent Ebony body would feel at home in the rich Victorian offices of Sherlock Holmes, or hanging polished on the wall as the proudest accomplishment of some master luthier, and the warm, rich tones it produces ring bright and clear in just the way you would hope and expect from this.

The Zebrawood is a warm golden yellow, interwoven with rich grain lines, and in the wilds of the savannah it would be perfectly invisible, but in the guitar shop and on stage it’s a bright, refreshing breath of fresh air, hinting at a life in the wilderness. It sounds brilliant, vivid and golden, and catches the sun with every note it plays.

Ernie Ball's new Paradigm strings might take you by surprise, with the subtle and devious way they have evolved from the standard Slinky range. Put them on your electric, or acoustic, and your first instinct, your first reaction will be “well these sound exactly the same!”

And while that might seem disappointing, or boring, that’s EXACTLY what they were hoping you’d say.

We’ve just managed to get one of the brand new Alesis Strike kits on our demo floor, and it’s really turning heads - we had a crowd of hungry on-lookers form as I was assembling it yesterday, and with good reason!

It’s a gorgeous machine of chrome racking and red sparkle drums, and hidden behind that glistening exterior is an awesome kit, with huge, fusion-size mesh pads that have amazing sensitivity and bounce response, cymbals with responsive edge, middle, bell and choke, and a module with a great built in mixer, huge editing controls, and separate instrument channel outputs for recording!
