At the heart of the AC30’s sound is its EL84 power section and the subtle distortion introduced by the phase inverter when the amp is pushed. This creates the blooming harmonics and dynamic response that define the VOX voice.

The Greenback-equipped version preserves this character while shifting the tonal balance slightly: less top-end sparkle, more midrange punch, and a smoother transition into overdrive.

The power supply has been engineered to recreate the voltage sag of the original 1963 design, delivering natural compression and feel under the fingers while eliminating ghost notes and excess noise.
