Product Information

The Roland n/vision Wavetable Synthesizer brings modern sound design and vintage-inspired synthesis together in a compact, powerful Roland Boutique instrument. Combining advanced wavetable synthesis with Roland's latest sound technologies, the n/vision delivers rich harmonic textures, evolving soundscapes and expressive performance capabilities. With up to 56 voices of polyphony, two-part multitimbral operation and extensive hands-on controls, this portable synthesizer is designed for electronic musicians, producers, sound designers and live performers seeking a versatile creative instrument.

At the heart of the n/vision is an advanced wavetable synthesis engine featuring two independently controllable wavetable layers within upper and lower parts. Unlike traditional synthesis methods that rely on fixed oscillator waveforms, wavetable synthesis allows musicians to scan through collections of digital waveforms, creating dynamic tonal changes and complex harmonic movement. This flexible architecture makes it possible to produce everything from atmospheric pads and evolving textures to aggressive leads, powerful basses and experimental electronic sounds.

Roland's innovative wave shaper technology takes sound design further by applying nonlinear processing to incoming waveforms, generating additional harmonics and distinctive tonal characteristics. Multiple modulation sources can influence wavetable position, oscillator pitch, layer balance and wave shaping, while a Step LFO and extensive envelope controls provide sophisticated movement and rhythmic variation. A dedicated Spread control enhances stereo imaging, adding width and dimension to complex synthesizer patches.

The n/vision also features a versatile analogue-modelled filter section with drive enhancement and multiple filter models inspired by classic synthesizers. Its extensive effects engine includes 17 multi-effects types, incorporating the celebrated Roland JUNO chorus, along with dedicated delay and reverb processing. Five reverb types and a unique shimmer mode allow musicians to add depth, ambience and octave-shifted atmospheric textures to their sounds.

For composition and live performance, the n/vision includes a two-part, 64-step polyphonic sequencer supporting up to eight notes per part, together with motion recording for capturing parameter changes. An integrated arpeggiator provides additional melodic and rhythmic possibilities, while Dual and Split modes enable flexible combinations of sounds across the keyboard. With 240 sound patch memories and 96 pattern memories, musicians can store and recall their creations for rehearsals, recording sessions and performances.

Despite its compact dimensions, the n/vision offers comprehensive connectivity for contemporary music production. A USB-C audio/MIDI interface enables integration with computers and digital audio workstations, while traditional MIDI input and output connect the synthesizer to external instruments and controllers. An external clock input supports synchronisation with analogue sequencing equipment, and dedicated headphone, audio output and mix input connections provide additional monitoring and performance flexibility.

Designed for creativity anywhere, the Roland n/vision features a built-in speaker and can operate using four AA batteries or USB-C bus power. The included Roland K-25m keyboard dock transforms the synthesizer into a standalone 25-key instrument, while its compact Roland Boutique design makes it easy to incorporate into desktop studios, portable production setups and live performance rigs. Combining immediate hands-on interaction with deep menu-driven sound design, the Roland n/vision offers an inspiring platform for exploring modern wavetable synthesis.
